Resistência a Salta - The colors of Purmamarca
January 3th, 2018
Yesterday we arrived in Purmamarca at seven o’clock p.m.. It was very cold. The weather was windy, a very cold wind. The temperature was 12 degrees celsius. The thermal sensation was much lesser.
The place is very different. It is a small town. The houses are made of adobe walls, which is a mix of grass, sand, land, small stones. The streets are not paved. It is a very simple place. In the camping we stopped, there was hot water to take a bath but no water to refil the van. While the men took a bath I prepared a delicious soup with onion, garlic, peas, macaroni, sausage, potato and tomate sause. It was delicious. We went to bed early. There was some fog falling. Each family ate the soap inside its van.
During our trip from Puerto Iguazú to Resistência we bought a watermelon, a bag of oranges and mangoes. The people of the group don’t like to eat fruit. Today we are going to go through Chilean customs. They don´t accept entering their country with fruit, honey, natural milk and similars. They just accept industrialized products. They are very strict.
After eating a lot of watermelon and oranges, I had to throw the rest of them into the garbage. I felt bad about throwing it away. I don’t like to throw food away. Everybody teased me because of that.
Today the trip has been the most attractive one until now.
The restroom of the camping is clean. There are toilets with hot water for baths. So we took a wonderful bath.
There are many cottages in the cabin which you can sleep.
There is a cemetery behind the camp.
Look at the structure of the camp. Everything is rustic.
The vegetation is a desert one.
The plants you see in the picture were planted there to stop the wind.
We met some people from Rio Grande do Sul. They knew our motorhome and liked it a lot. We left some oranges for them because the next stop would be the customs, so no fruit inside the car.
