From Puerto Iguazú to Resistência - Argentina / The last day of the year

Our group has eight people, traveling in three cars. Two motorhomes and one pick up. We always follow a sequence: Peter and Alicia comes in the front in the pick up. Mr. Hélio, Mrs. Mary and Ms. Dodora come behind in their motorhome and my husband, my  youngest daughter, Gal and I come next in ours. We’ve never traveled over 100 kms/h.

We traveled from Puerto Iguazú to Resistência. It was a long trip, about 630 kilometers. Resistência is in the region of Chaco. It is known as a very hot place. We apreciated the Argentina vegetation. We left Puerto Iguazú with  a temperature of 36 degrees celcius. It was too hot.

The camping routine

We got up at 5’clock a.m. to leave the camping at 07:30. First we take a bath. As it is very hot, the water almost burns us. So we take the bath with cold water. Then we make the bed. Gal is sleeping on the floor, in the corridor of the motorhome. After that we prepare and have the breakfast. We always eat some kind of fruit, bread, cream cheese, ham, cheese, coffee and milk. And then, we prepare food to eat during the trip. We wash the fruit, slice them and put them into small bowls. Finally we do the dishes, dry the kitchen utensilies and put each one on its place. In a motorhome we cant’t leave anything out of place.

So let’s begin the adventure today.

On the way to Resistência we saw many pine trees.

After some kilometers we saw many electricity transmission lines. Probably they are taking energy from Iguazú to the rest of the country.

The vegetation continues to be soy plantation.

The temperature continued increasing: 38 degrees celsius.

Arriving at the camping

Every time we arrive at the camp Miguel, my husband, turns on the electricity of the camping place to the van one. He asks to the camping secretary if the voltage is 220 volts or 127 volts. If he turns on the  wrong voltage the electrical equipments can burn.
He always puts water into the van too. He has to stop the van in an horizontal position. If he doesn’t do like this, the water from the kitchen and the bathroom sink doesn’t go out.

Some irregularities

A common means of transportation in the interior of Argentina is the motor bike. We have been seeing two adults and one child riding the same motorbike. The unusual thing for me is that they don’t use the helmet. We also saw a big truck carrying a lot people on the truck body. It is dangerous but it happens in Brazil too.

We didn't like the camping in Resistência. The place was full of garbage and there were a lot of black-winged stilt. Mrs. Mary, Ms. Dodora, Peter and Lícia went to the hotel. We slept in the van. We couldn´t open the door. The insects went into the van. The air conditioner helped us a lot. We decided not to cook dinner in the van. We went out and ate a sandwich.

Resistência to Salta

Today we are going from Resistência to Salta, traveling to the north of Argentina. We will travel about 820 kilometers.

We could see that the vegetation was changing. The trees became smaller, curved trunks, no plantation.

The temperature was higher.

The vegetation was changing more and more.
