Geysers Tatio

January 5th, 2018

We got up at four o’clock to see the Geysers Tatio, 4200m. It is located in a geothermal area.

Hot water comes from the bottom of the land. It measures from about 60 to 99 degrees. It goes to about seven meters high.

The water that comes from the buttom of the volcano has a lot of chemical substances.  That’s why  there is some husk at the exit of the hole.

The geysers begin to throw water from the bottom of the land at midnight and it finishes at about eleven in the morning. That´s why we have to go so early.

After seeing the geysers’ presentation we swam in a hot water lagoon. The water comes from the bottom of the volcano, too. It was very good. The water was fine but outside it was very cold.

After that we pass through Machuca. It is a small village where they grow up Lhama and they sell barbecue of Lhama meat .

Observation: there are four kinds of camelideus in South America: Vicunha and Guanaco aren’t domesticated. Lhama e Alpaca are domesticated.

In Machuca we see a lot of lhamas.

The houses are covered by grass. They are very low. The guide told us that the people from high temperature don’t grow up more because of less oxygen.

This is the village of Machuca. It is a small place.in the desert.

There is a church too. It is very rustic.

The church is very old.
There is internet, solar heating, light everywhere. It was very interesting.

On the way back we saw some lhamas eating grass. Lhamas can help human beings with meat and peel.

 We saw some flamingos too.
